Norseman Wood Heater Manual

We have run our stove 3 seasons.it sits in a small building out side our house and piped into our duct work.80 degrees in our house all winter.we feed it wood every 12 hours.6am & 6pm.being outside we don't need a high chimney and never worry about a chimney fire ( let it burn and clean it self out )The manufacture of these stoves stand behind them 100% and are very nice to deal with if you have a problem.they send us 2 new blowers at no charge cause ours were making noise this year.This is a five star company. I've heated my home with this furnace for 2 years now.

It puts out a tremendous amount of heat, but I'm very unhappy with it. You can't light a fire and forget about it. Nope, this furnace requires almost constant babysitting. The bimetal thermostat draft control on the front door doesn't work at all. Not even a little bit. On the high setting, the dampers don't close until the flue temps are 900+, and once they do close, they won't open up again until the fire is smothered out. I checked every variable imaginable so I'm thinking this is just bad design.

A quick google search, and you'll find other people struggling with the same problem. Past that, the instructions suggest using a barometric draft damper on the stove pipe which alot of people have pointed out is a recipe for a catastrophic chimney fire. If this is all the furnace you can afford, I would advise you to save your money for anything else. This furnace just isn't worth the frustration and danger.
